The way into the future of the health services.

A recent conference in Glasgow, on the subject of digital health care, ended by saying 'get out there and do it'. Use whatever technological device you find to hand to radically improve the health of our people.

The figures are in.  Whole System Demonstrator ( telehealth and Telecare research on 6000 participants over 3 years) clearly showed reductions in hospital and A&E addmissions, fewer GP consultations but beyond doubt a 45% reduction in mortality. Surely we are now ethically bound to pursue this course.

It increases some costs as more LTC are discovered by monitoring health conditions more closely. The way to contain these costs is to coach and support patients in managing their health themselves. Who better to do it than physiotherapists?
