Weight loss schemes - which one?
It appears that commercial schemes take a lead in treatment of obesity.
Lighten Up trial by Kate Jolly of Birmingham University, showed that commercial schemes such as Slimming World or Weight Watchers take the lead in treating over-weight conditions effectively. The NHS has several schemes from one-to-one counselling to Size Down in groups. One-to-one was least effective, while those attending Size Down showed continued compliance. Exercise only showed the best results. Encouragingly, all who previously had done very little activity showed a willingness to continue with higher activity levels after a year.
